Speaking ahead of the show’s opening, Ms Wendy Wen, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “When launching this JV, we had the goal of making this show a real bridge between the global GA sector and China’s fast-growing low-altitude economy. Messe Frankfurt came on board with the experience of organising 348 fairs and events worldwide in 2024, including a range of aviation-adjacent sectors and a sales network covering 180 countries and regions, and we are pleased to have meaningfully contributed so far. The growth of this edition is also strongly related to the expertise and dedication of our partners at Zhuhai Airshow Group, as well as the widely applicable potential of this industry, and we fully expect AERO Asia to go from strength to strength in the years to come.”
Chairman and General Manager of Zhuhai Airshow Group Co Ltd, Ms Cheng Min, said: “As the organiser of the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China), Zhuhai Airshow Group has successfully held 15 consecutive editions, ranking among the world’s top five airshows. Messe Frankfurt, as a global leader in the exhibition industry, boasts a robust global network and abundant international MICE resources. It is believed that through the powerful collaboration between the two parties, this edition of AERO Asia will surely bring more new highlights and advantages, creating additional development opportunities for general aviation enterprises worldwide.”
Alongside a range of leading domestic innovators, 75 international industry players are displaying their expertise in Zhuhai. These include companies representing new exhibiting countries Belgium, Ireland, Korea, Malaysia, Malta, Türkiye, and the UK. The products and services being showcased encompass the full spectrum of general aviation and the low-altitude economy, from services, parts and components to full-scale aircraft. For both industries, the potential for application in numerous vertically integrated sectors is high – including in transportation, logistics, marine, agriculture, security, fire protection, emergency services, surveying, entertainment, and more.
Fringe events and flying displays draw audiences from around the world
To facilitate the exchange of expertise and help fairgoers explore a ‘new era’ of aviation, AERO Asia 2025 is hosting over 70 fringe events including seminars, forums, and panel discussions, giving a platform to leading voices in aviation innovation and sustainability. Meanwhile, various flying displays allow some of the world’s top formation pilots to use the sky as their canvas, displaying skill and creativity in equal measure.
Flying displays include:
- South African AERO aerobatic team: featuring four expertly piloted, exquisitely manufactured XA42s, this marks the team’s first aerobatic performance in Zhuhai, having previously flown in numerous airshows across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Marked with AERO branding just for the occasion, the team is led by four-time world champion captain Mark Hensman, and features several top pilots, including solo performer Patrick Davidson, a Red Bull Air Race champion. The team showcases thrilling manoeuvres such as crossovers, synchronised flights, freestyle aerobatics, and formation flying.
- Chinese Red Star aerobatic team: the team has achieved multiple firsts in its performance history, including China’s first civilian aerobatic team to use domestically manufactured aircraft; the first civilian aerobatic team to operate the CJ-6 aircraft; and the first Chinese aerobatic team made up entirely of retired senior air force flight instructors. The highly skilled pilots deliver an exciting and thrilling four-aircraft formation performance at AERO Asia 2025.
Featured fringe events:
- The Future of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Across Asia–Pacific, co-organised with NexAvian (Singapore). Moderated by NexAvian CEO Mr Emerson Xu, panellists include C-suite executives from SkyDrive (Japan), Seaplane Asia (China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia), Volocopter/Diamond (Germany), and Eve Air Mobility (Brazil), together exploring how different architectures, markets, and regulatory ecosystems are shaping the next phase of AAM’s evolution across APAC.
- Sustainable Aviation Forum at AERO Asia, co-organised with Flying Pages GmbH. Taking place for the whole second day, the event focuses on the latest development of the low-altitude economy, advanced air mobility, and clean aviation technologies, aligning with China's goals to expand this sector to a projected value of USD 280 billion by 2030.
- 2025 GABA Safety International Symposium, organised by the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA). With the core theme Low-Altitude Economy Empowering High-Quality Development in Asia, the event will feature keynote speeches from three main perspectives: international outlook, regional collaboration, and companies’ global expansion. A roundtable dialogue will further focus on accelerating the global commercialisation of the low-altitude economy.
- Shaping an Inclusive Future, presented by Elevate(her) Aviation. On the show’s third day, Elevate(her), the UK-based non-profit and online resource platform which supports women in aviation, shares insightful stories of inspirational women in the industry and highlights issues affecting equality.
