Recommendations and tips for Overseas
There are recommendations and tips exclusively for Overseas, designed to help you enjoy a smooth and rewarding exhibition experience and facilitate your various activities in China.
Payment systems in China
Traveling to AERO Asia in Zhuhai this year? While international credit cards are accepted in some places, the true key to a seamless experience lies in mobile payments.
Platforms like Alipay and WeChat Pay are ubiquitous, powering everything from high-end retailers to local street vendors. To ensure you're prepared, we recommend setting up your account before you depart:
1. Download the app (Alipay or WeChat) and register using your mobile number.
2. Link your international credit or debit card directly within the app.
Once set up, paying is as simple as scanning a merchant's QR code or having them scan yours. It’s the fastest, most secure, and most convenient way to transact in China.
Pro-tip: Completing the setup and verification in advance saves time and avoids connectivity issues upon arrival.
Mobile Internet Access
If you have a smartphone with e-sim capabilities, we recommend you download an app that offer temporary e-sim plans (e.g. Airalo) Their services can be used to ensure access to mobile data for internet access. lf your smartphone does not have e-sim capabilities, you can buy a physical sim card for temporary mobile data. Physical sim cards can usually be purchased upon arrival at airports.
Note: lf you arrive in the Hong Kong SAR, make sureto purchase a Mainland China Sim instead of Hong Kong SAR Sim
Translation Services
To ease with communication in China, we recommend international exhibitors& visitors to download an app with translation capabilities (e.g. Baidu Translate).
Map/Navigation Services
We recommend downloading a Chinese alternative before your arrival Providers such as AMap work well for this, as the app is available in the English language and entries are automatically translated into Chinese.
* Kindly be advised that due to internet restrictions in China. Traditional translation apps from providers such as Google or Microsoft may not work.
